First up is an army hat badge I found out in the woods along with the once silver plated compact I will show you later and an old copper brooch as well. The hat badge is from the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry (Wentworth) Regiment. "Semper Paratus" means always ready. The construction of this badge is peculiar as you will see in the pics. There are two parts where only one is really needed. Was this common? The smaller piece appears to have been glued over the other piece but fell off.

These were found a few feet from the hatbadge.

I found this brass plated chess set under a big tree in a park. All of the one army was there but there was no sign of the battlefield or the opposing force. The pieces were scattered in a three foot area about 4 inches deep. They appear to be old but cheap metal.
