This year, by far, was my best year of detecting. None of the following artifacts would have been found if we weren't granted kind permissions by various farmers throughout the year.

I was fortunate to have dug several firsts this year with coppers: a 1754 King George II farthing, a very rare 1787 Connecticut copper, a rare 1788 Nova Constellatio/Connecticut copper, and a 1794 thick planchet Liberty Cap large cent.

King George II farthings: 1
King George II halfpence: 2
King George III halfpence: 3
Smooth Colonial Coppers: 1
Connecticut Coppers: 3
American Half Cents: 3
American Large Cents: 11
Canadian Bank Tokens: 1

Total Coppers: 25

My only two silver coins this year were a 1739 one real pistareen and an 1853 Seated Liberty dime.

Total Silvers: 2

I dug this glass cufflink on the last hunt of 2010. I believe it may be from the 18th century. I also dug a one-piece 1830s Rifleman button and a Civil War button.

Total Buttons: 139

Musket furniture, two shoe buckle frame pieces, musketballs, pewter spoon pieces, an 1863 store token, a pile of Indian Heads, and a watch key were some other various relics that I recovered.

My 2010 season was solidified after I found this 1824 Lafayette wax seal. It is very special to me, and I consider it the best find of my short career.

You were hot on fire this year, my brother. :blob8: You can definitely hold the trophy high in Colonial celebration. You dug like a maniac in those Colonial fields all year. I just hope 2011 will be as good. We must keep our coils low and our passions high! :blob8: :blob1: :blob5: See you in 2011, my brother! :hello2:

Kyle, you had a great year! Some beautiful coppers plus the pistereen made for a solid coin year. The Lafayette seal is a special relic and the highlight of your season. And by the way, the cufflink with the glass stone is 18th century, I have several similar ones from a site that is strictly 18th century.

Like I told your brother, may your 2011 be filled with the 18th century!

You did very well, and you dug some nice quality coppers this year too. Bravo! :hello2:

That seal fob is a great find, and even though there were only 2 silvers, that 1739 makes up for several newer ones in my opinion.

Great stuff!

P.S.--I REALLY like that open-worked "spiderweb" dandy in your button photo. 8)

Another well earned bunch of colonial goodness :headbang: I am actually jealous of the KG III copper  That coin seems to be so hard for me to find :icon_scratch:

Thanks for taking the time to research, dig and post

Kyle, it's going to be very difficult to best 2010 in QUALITY and QUANTITY of great coins and relics. That's an incredible number of historic buttons. WTG and thanks for your expertise regarding helping us identify some Colonial relics that Dmand and I dug during the year. WTG, Quindy.

Outstanding Kyle!

That's an appetizing colonial dish you're serving there. Looks like the main course is an extra big helping of coppers, sprinkled with a little silver. And some nice buttons for dessert. But I'm sure all that did not satisfy your appetite, and you'll be back to the table soon. Congrats on a super year!! Bill
