Thank you very much for sharing this with us. So, do you have any info on the thimble?

Thanks for your post scaupus! :icon_thumright:

Here's what I can tell you about the thimble . . .

"This sterling silver thimble was manufactured by James Swann. It features a green agate stone top with a dimpled main body, a decorative shammrock border and a faceted rim. It has the makers marks J.S, the number '7' for the size and the Birmingham, England hallmark with the date letter 'h' for 1907."

Happy hunting to you this year in Florida!
Dave

I already felt your thimble is stunning, but when you clarified that the top is green agate, I'm blown away! Also like the harp on its side, what an unusual lovely thimble. HH Andi

Hello Andi :hello:

Thanks very much for your kind words.
The thimble certainly wasn't one of my oldest finds, but it sure was my prettiest!

Best of luck to you Andi,
Dave

PS. Here's a pic of it coming out of the ground as well as the hallmarks for England - Dated 1907,
as well as a bronze sleighbell that I found.

Hello Chris, :hello:

No, that's a Toronto Mason's badge from 1938, it measures about 1.5" in diameter. Here is a shot of the reverse side, along with a couple of other items I found on the same site. I found these on a site where a cottage from the 1930's was torn down. That was a good day for me!

The ground is pretty much thawed up here. I've been out four times so far with my new AT Pro. Other then modern coins and a late 19th c. spoon find, I haven't found much to speak of. I keep hoping for something decent to pop up, but I'm still getting use to the AT Pro. :icon_scratch:

Thanks for the kind words my friend! :icon_thumright:
Best of luck to you this year! :hello2:

Dave
