2011 was a great year! I didn't find the HUGE silver like I did last year, but I did find many good things, and had quite a few firsts. I found my first large cent, first Buffalo nickel, first Victoria silver, and my first Barber dime. I might add that almost all of my good coin finds this year were made at sites that I was sure I had cleaned out last year with my old detector. This A.T. Pro really impressed me, and now I'm TOTALLY sure these sites are empty! Well not really...you know what they say about sites being "hunted out" lol.

I found a total of 914 coins with a face value of $72.26. Of those, 47 are silver. last year I found 53 silver coins, so I'm averaging 50 silver coins per season. I'm happy with that, but next year I'm going to try to beat it! Jewelry finds were similar to last year, but the gold eluded me. I need to dig more of those mid-tone signals. Another neat find is the "Case Threshing Machines" pin, it was found at the site where I found my Morgan and Barber halves last year. My #1 goal this year was to find a Barber dime...and I found three of them woohoo! My most valuable coin find this year is probably the 1903 5 cent fish scale, beautiful condition, probably worth 50 or 60 bucks.

Here are some pictures of some of my finds. Not pictured is the pile of clad, and the ton of relics I kept.

I can't wait until spring so I can start season 3!!

Grats on your finds. You had a great year. I didn't find 1 Canadian silver this year in Ohio out of 100. The old Canadian silvers are pretty coins!!

That is a lot of silver for only 900+ coins, I can tell you my ratio was much closer to 1% Silver, approximately 2900 coins of which 29 were Silver.

Good luck in the new year, only 90 days to go !
