I detected 80 hunts this year - I broke personal records in some depts. - fell short in others
but a lot of it had to do with where I hit - and where i didnt hit

I found 72 gold rings (1 returned - so 71 in pic) - personal best for me

other gold

silver (upper 39) and junk rings (bottom)

other silver

silver coins ( all from water except 1 Barber half from a farmfield)
12 halfs this year - 10 were silver - personal record

other old coins

coins for the year

coins from mexico trip

old beach tags - old bathing suit buckles and swim cap snaps
all signs that lead me to "old" gold and old coins

religious medals

keys (forgot to put in huge skeleton key)

cracker jack toys (I think these are cool)

musketballs and minie balls( I found most at one spot but found some at 7 beaches in 3 states and 2 dirty ones were found near a CW battle site)

junk earings

just some of the lures

and the sinkers

sunglasses - low count because I hit older areas and fishing areas (that used to be swimming areas)

So do you make logs of all of your hunts? I assume so as you are very accurate in your details.

2011 - I had really slacked off - got lazy
yes I usually do try to keep a log every year - but 2011 - I got out maybe 25 times
so when 2012 started - I was a little slack in writing stuff down cause I did not know just how much I had planned to get out
but once I started getting the silver and gold - I got jiggy with it

I got out alot and stayed out longer on hunts - average 4-5 hrs a hunt

Wow that is a lot of digging! You got 72 gold rings in 80 hunt's? That's almost one gold ring every time out. You must be hunting some good water!

Like I said in my PM, you certainly put the time into it this year as evidenced by HOW MUCH you found, and I'm not just talking about gold and silver! Since I am primarily a colonial relic/coin hunter, I don't have a real good idea what a dedicated beach hunter can come up with over a year's time, but I would think if you average 1 gold ring per hunt, you're doing pretty darn good. Heck, I hear you can get 50 cents a pound for lead these days. You have quite a bit of money just in lead sinkers there!
