I started MDing at the beginning of 2014, didn't find anything until April 5th, so here is the first 9 months worth of finds from my freshman year.

I found a gallon of modern clad, however about 20% of it would not go through the Coinstar machine, so I did not count it. Here are the totals: (339) Quarters, (582) Dimes, (73) Nickels, (2476) Cents. Coinstar gave me $152.68.

I found (331) wheaties and (60) silver coins, here is the breakdown on the silvers: (2) Walkers, (1) Franklin, (8) Washingtons, (1) Mex. 50 Centavos, (1) Equ. 1 Sucre, (3) War Nickels, (1) Barber Dime, (22) Mercurys and (21) Roosevelts.

I found (7) coins from the 1800s: (5) IHC, (1) Coronet LC and (1) V Nickel.

I found a bunch of sweet Tootsie Toys!

I was able to find (1) gold ring and (8) silver rings.

Thanks for looking and good luck on your hunts!

wow, impressive finds, a lot of variety, a lot of history, a lot of silver, some really nice rings, some gold, tootsie toys... what's not to like? I just use the coins that don't go through as change at the store. for a lot of us that would be a banner year. congrats my friend

Thanks DL. Stay warm.

I think that I had a good year. I was looking for silver coins, and I found 60 of them... I feel that is quite respectable. The Deus found 50 silvers in the last 6 months of the year... including 3 half dollars, for a "regular guy" that aint bad at all. I look forward to 2015! Thanks again!

Tom you should be very proud of your 2014 finds. I know for a fact that besides what you showed in your photos you also found a lot of unique and interesting items. If you found 60 silver coins last year in 9 months I expect you'll easily find 100 this year what with the extra 3 months plus all the experience under your belt. I look forward to your 2015 totals to see how much you've improved. I am always impressed with your love of and dedication to this most enjoyable hobby.

Thanks ESM.
I was very lucky to get the 3 half dollars.
I grew up at the end of the Tootsie Toy age, I remember them from when I was really young, so I am always psyched when an intact one appears.
The silver coins are out there, even on the Eastern Shore, you just have to look in the right places... that is the trick, finding the correct spot to hunt. Silver coins are what I am always hunting for, every hunt is a silver coin hunt, I don't find one on every hunt, but I am always looking.

GL&HH!

Thanks Beez!

I didn't want to post a bunch of stuff that I had already posted, and you know me, all I really like is coins.... old coins & silver coins...

I look forward to seeing a pic of your 60+ silver coins from 2014. Let me know when you post the thread.
Thanks again, and I will see you soon. GL&HH!

Me as well. I'm 62. Those were MY toys. LOL I told my wife, "If I could just find the drawers full of tiny toys the teachers took from me every year, I'd be set."
I don't know, maybe that's what I'm looking for.. hehe I LIKE the silver.. I LOVE the toys.

Thanks TL. The foreign silver was cool to find, you just never know what you will find.

I hope to see your 2014 finds post soon... from what I have seen you find the last few months, that will be one sweet thread!

I look forward to hunting together in 2015.

Sorry Tom, I beat ya with I believe it was 63 silvers, which two of those were 1700's silver, (only stated like that to invoke the jelliousness that you always want to invoke on poor Beeze and Smittyman) There could be a couple more floating around here somewhere, I have to check down the cushions, in my car, bottom of the safe, you know all the obvious places. The whole gang of us will have to pack up the camping gear and head for Maine this summer, I hear Abe needs help up there, according to him there is way too much history for him alone!

I will find that 1700's swimming hole.

Great year, you are a great hunter, don't forget about my theory of all the sissy's and turtles!
