I had a fun year detecting with many friends and broke my personal record for silver with 182 silver coins found.. I am retired so I detect quite a lot.. I give away or donate my bullets, buckles, wheat penny's, memorials, toy guns ect. to the Historical Society and give some to friends. I save all my coins, bells. jewelry and some relics. Washingtonian, A2coins, Underwonder and Time machine are some new friends on this site.

A few stats for this year are :

5 Half Dollars
13 Standing Liberty Quarters
9 Barber Quarters
23 Barber Dimes
132 Washington Quarters, Rosie's, Merc.'s, and War Nickels
30 plus Indians

Happy New Year and Happy Hunting After 30 years of detecting, there is still plenty in the ground to find !!! Hey Treasurenet… any way we can get to flip pictures on here ?? They were upright when in my photo's ?! Sorry

Wow bass! You dug a heck of a lot of Barbers and SLQs. That's amazing. Those are some tricky coins to find around my parts. Way to go on a killer year and setting your record. That Seated half is really the cherry on top of an amazing haul. Can't wait to find one of those someday.

Good stuff and keep kicking @$$ in 2019. Glad to count you as a friend!

Now THAT is some hunting! Which machine are you using the most and why? I like that you stated that there are still many many finds to be made,I truly believe this will be going on for just about EVER. SO many targets are in difficult conditions that the “hurry up and find it” guys might taper off fairly quickly but the guys who thrive on seeing if they can find those things that are tough to find...we’ll be in business indefinitely.
Retired or not,you can hang your hat pretty high on that year B-Man. It is NOT easy to do,although some make it look that way. FANTASTIC group of finds!!

IDXMonster, thank you... I go back to any picked out place, that gave me an Indianhead, and try to dig out "one More".. I have used Whites, Garrett, Fisher and now Minelab.... All good, as long as it's a $300 and up medium machine... of course a $600 plus machine will find a little more... Last year, I used a Fisher F75 for the first time... found 177 silver's in my first year of retirement... This year , I bought a used Minelab CTX3030, and found 182... Almost the same amount of quality coins … The new Nox 600 and 800 are the best to buy right now, but, I'll stick with my machines...

Congratulations Basssmann on your personal silver record! That's a very impressive total. I can only imagine how many hours of detecting that represents over the course of a year. Well done!!!

That is an impressive pile of silver for these days. Is it correct to say that you found more Barber coins than IHPs?
