    First Post - TVA rules

Hey folks, I caught this forum on an "I'm bored" search one day, and your enthusiasm has transferred the bug over to me. Trying to sell a digital piano to get my first MD. On the other hand, I've begun some research on local laws and found this website for TVA http://www.tva.gov/river/recreation/metaldetect.htm. As it turns out, some areas are OK and you need a free permit. That is the link to the information. Since I'm sure someone will ask, I'm looking to get a Garrett Ace 250. Seems like a step above the cheapest and easy to use.

I don't know how many times I've printed out that TVA permit but just never got around to filling it out and sending it in.
    And yes, you're hooked!

Do they ever check for the permit ? I was up at Guntersville a month or so ago, and no one even bothered to look my way. And just how public
are these places that do not allow detecting, we all pay state taxs. Should it not, be "public ' then . with no permit from the TVA, for heaven sake were in Alabama, and not Tenn.

    Just my two cents
