If it 'aint there... you can't find it !!

Nothing being said Here for Bama yet. The ground's been hard as concrete at most places I've tried to MD. Seems like most places that look promising for MD'n
are privately owned. I've scoped-out some real old buildings and closed stores,
so now I plan to start looking up people's phone numbers to get permission to MD.
To get the best results I know I need to go to the most likely places to have
the most luck. So here in Bama that would be the main lakes and man-made
beaches. Also there was Cilvil War activity, and many places that's been around
as much as 300 years or so. Winston & Walker Counties have real old history.
I still haven't had the proper chance to go to the better places, I hope to start
reporting better places and finds A.S.A.P.
    (7 counties have reported Gold Finds.) 8) 8) 8)

The only part of Bama I get to hunt is lower/central part of the state (60 miles south of Montgomery), but I manage to get a 1909 penny about two months ago. I have been hunting a piece of property around an old house that's been there for 150 years. Mind you only poor people lived there so the picken's is low but I have found my share of what is there and I am not through yet. I have been doing a lot of beach hunting since I got the Excalibur.

Last month while I was raking rocks to clear the way to cut grass, an arrowhead
suddenly popped up from the ground. (My sister's house in Smokerise, AL)
It wont lie flat in my scanner, so the pic is fuzzy looking.

I've looked several times since, but nothing else. Must've been shot from a bow
while hunting. It may be American Indian, I don't know.

That is nice. I have hunted Indian Artifacts all of my life in North AL. Some close to the TN River and alot in bluffs and caves. Shoot me an IM if you would like to get together and dig.

Hello Zipdogg, just signed on this site and saw your post of the arrowhead, nice. Noticed you were in Smokerise at your sister's and wondered if you're from the Hanceville area? I'll be getting a locator soon and am looking for contacts in the area.
So much dirt, so little time....

I'm in Gadsden, and I guess nobody here metal detects. Just got here a couple months ago, and haven't had a chance to get out much, but the small park in my neighborhood was just packed with coins. Nothing old, 1960+.
