How many?
Greetings from the frozen North,
How many 'real' Alaskans (not 'snowbirds') are on this forum?

Re: How many?
Been in Juneau for 30 years. Does that count?

Re: How many?
Not sure I can include myself as a real Alaskan. Been in Anchorage 35 years, but as we all know Anchorage isn't really Alaska. It's just 10 miles away though.

Re: How many?
Hey.
I'm new here, but just read your post.
I am not from AK, I am sorry to say, but I've spent a lot of time there doing construction gigs - mostly in "the bush". Been to the Arctic, the Bering, Fairbanks, Glacierview, South Nak Nek, Anchorage (of course), Wasilla Valley, Resurrection Bay (halibut), Soldotna, among others.
I am going to Chidnik Lake soon and will be on the Yukon (Sheldon Point) this summer. An point in taking my MD with me, or should I just bring my fishing pole? Are there restrictions? I can't see much of a problem out in the villages. You'd maybe have to get permission from the elders.
Comments??

I watch Ice road Truckers does that count ? But on the serious side from what I have seen on several TV shows Alaskans are an amazing group of people. I could not do it but wish I could. Your friend from the sunny and warm south.

Re: How many?
Love Alaska, I was there in 1971-73. Lived in Fairbanks & worked in a log cabin on Alaskaland as one of President Johnson's first Head Start-Home Start Visitors. I have a family & friends living in Palmer and other areas of Alaska.
Went fishing, hiking and panned for gold in the Circle area. One day I would love to go back for a visit and pan for gold again
Memories.

Re: How many?
Hi,
I was born in the Territory of Alaska and been here ever since. I love it here but I may move someday to someplace where I can detect more than 6 months out of the year.

I got tired of shoveling snow and swatting baseball size mosquitos. Other wise, i'd still be there...Seward or Seldovia.
