My daughter needed a DSLR for her digital photography class. Someone had a Canon XSi listed for 150 + shipping. I offered $120, which was declined. The seller then comes back with a counter offer of $120.50 . Ummmm, ok, I guess I'll cough up that extra $.50

That's what you call, "You know, I should have taken that offer..." and them trying to get as close as possible.

It is an interesting tactic to see if you would up the anti in response to the decline without him exposing his willingness to go down to your offer, nothing to lose on his part, I bet most everyone buys at his subsequent offer. I didn't know you could decline then counter later in a separate action. I should try this.

I need one of you to offer $3,000 on this $5,000 ring I have listed to test this out.
