My First November Finds
I have been off of the radar for quite some time due to work and travel. This morning I took Charlie for a walk along the river at one of our favorite sites and, while i did not make any earth shattering finds, I did not come up empty handed. I found a couple of small points, a fragment of a trade pipe, a ton of flakes and what I think is a knife blade. The first photo is the one that may be a blade. Its is certainally worked by the way that it is smoothed and tapered outward towards the edges, and there is old old flaking marks along the edges as well. Please let me know your thoughts.... if you think that its just a rock, it wont hurt my feelings We all know that I have made those mistakes a number of times. As always... comments are greatly appreciated. I hope you all have been well while I was away. Oh yea.... on the 30th, I will be at the FLETC Academy in Glenco Georgia for a two week firearms Instructor course. That's a coastal area and since i will be off for the weekend, I will do my best to get in some arrowhead hunting time.

Beautiful little crystal point; I've been told that quartz is a difficult material to fashion points from.

Thanks for the comment. I love them and am always on the look out for them. I find a ton of flakes but few points made of this clear crystal.

Hmmm, I really cant tell if the first pic is anything. My first thoughts when I saw the pic ,was hematite, but i dont know and cant tell from the pics. Hematite is Iron ore, and it should be heavy for its size. you dont need any help on the secound point it is a no brainer, and a very sweet little point. Congrats, John

Thanks for the comments Flint. Yea.... as is always the case with my poor quality cellphone pics, the photo just does not do it justice. i will find the time to scan this one as that will give you a much better perspective. It is heavy and much smoother than it appears in this photo. Thanks again for the thoughts... as always, I do appreciate them
