My latest finds with a bunch of pics

Hey guys, it's been a pretty productive couple of months for me and I thought I'd share my latest finds. First, here's a cool novaculite hafted scraper I found in October:



Not long after that the owner of a local field did some dirt work, uncovering a small site. I found several brokes, including one heart breaker Wells that would have been huge for this area. The base measured over an inch, I've searched in vane for the tip sinse However, I did manage to find a couple of decent pieces on the site: Here's a nice Edgewood:



And a Maud:



And a neat little turtleback scraper:





My hunting buddy and I started hitting some local spots and they've really delivered. For those of you who frequent the PROS site, my hunting buddy is famous Indiana Smith...

Here is some of my finds for the four or five weeks or so...

Here's a Perdiz made off a flake:

A cool little graver



Here's a Darl that tried to hide from me, I flipped it out before taking the insitu:





I managed to pic up a couple of blunts, one was a Gary, the other a Cossatot River that would have been nice:



Even after I flipped this point out I still had to get on my hands and knees to see if it were indeed a point...





It was another Edgewood.

Here's a couple of my better finds... The first is a big broadhead Gary. It sure cleaned up good too. It has a bunch of quartz crystals embedded in it and it sure sparkles



This next point has been offically dubbed the "polecat" point. I spotted it about ten feet out. My heart said point, but my mind said that it was just a muscle shell. I was not convinced that it was a point until I was right on top of it.





It's made out of novaculite (probably my favorite material) You can't tell on this pic, but the maker had a heck of a time on the opposite side. Still, it's a pretty point.

You took some killer Insitu shots. Great hunt I really like the Gary. Good eye in the last pic of the point in the water, Those muscle shells always get me 2. I bend down and stick my hand in the freezing cold water and pull out a shell, Dooooope. I always say OK I'm not doing that any more ( 5 more steps, the hand goes back in the frozen water and pulls out yet another shell). Dooope...... Great pics, points good hunt. John
