2008 not over yet

I recently posted my finds for 2008.I assumed with the snow cover we had I was done.
The past couple of days has brought warm weather and has melted the snow.I had a
family get together to go to today but I had a few hours this morning to hunt.
I chose my sandiest field as the muddier ones were surely unwalkable with all the ice
and snow melt we've had. I still sunk in pretty good but it was walkable.



I found a pretty nice quarry blank





Next was a broken Hopewell, Flint Ridge material. A nice find and only the second
piece of Flint Ridge I've found at this site.



My birthday is Monday, I consider this blade the perfect gift. Wonderful color!





I also found a broken drill and two hafted scrapers.

Thanks ,The blade is Upper Mercer or what's also called Coshocton flint. It is a little
beauty. I got it displayed on blue cloth. It really brings out the color. It's nice to find some
pretty flint now and then.(I find a lot of dull black and tannish cherts, not enough of the
beautiful flint that Ohio is famous for). Thanks everyone.

Nice finds!!

The coshocton blade is a beauty! I thought the year was over too, and then comes yesterday w/65 degrees . I got out too. I'll put some pics up here in a bit.
