2008 Was A Very Good Year
In the immortal words of Garrett Morris's character Chico Escuela from the early days of SNL, "2008 has beena a bery bery gooda to me".
I had one of the best years I've had in quite some time, both in quantity and quality of artifacts. The bulk of my finds came from the Ft Ancient Excavation Site, but I also found some nice Archaic and Woodland pieces as well, topping off the year with a killer 3/4 Grooved Axe.
We'll start with my finds from the Excavation Site.
Pic 1. The tray from 2008. Everything in that tray with the exception of the circle of Bone Beads is from 2008. Those are from 2007.
Pic 2. Another tray from 2008. This entire tray is this year.
Pic 3. Another tray from 2008.
Pic 4 and 5. The Pipe I found there this summer.
Pic 6 and 7. The two Fish Hooks from this fall.
Pic 8 and 9. Some Pottery pieces
Pic 10, 11, and 12. Some of the better Bone Awls from this year.

Re: 2008 Was A Very Good Year
And last but not least, a few pieces I bought this year.
The pieces in the first 5 pictures were bought off of individuals and the last 7 pictures are pieces I bought at an auction in Marion county. I got 102 pieces for for $205.00, so thats only $2.00 each. Not a bad deal if I say so myself.

Re: 2008 Was A Very Good Year
Thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments.
d2, yes those are Turkey Spurs in some of the pictures. We find all kinds of these on the Ft Ancient sites we hunt. The Indians would insert them into a wooden or bone handle and use it as a weapon, or so I have been told.
