Another, What is it?
This stone was found on the fields I hunt. Any ideas, prolly a geofact but still a neat find.
Thanks.
Molly.

Re: Another, What is it?
Maybe some type of hide scraper or to get the fat off the hide. I have something similar but like you say I picked it up cause it was unusal.

I believe that's a PPF Molly.
That would be a Petrified Platypus Foot. lol
Seriously though, I'm sure it's just a natural rock, but it is a very cool looking piece.

Re: Another, What is it?
You know me Molly, I would have brought that home from the creek, let alone from a Indian site in a farm field. That thing could of had several use's.

Some indian probably picked that up and brought it home for the same reason you did, because it looks cool.

Re: Another, What is it?
I wonder if he's refering to the Big Bopper, who we all know had roots in the beginnings of "Rock". lol

Molly.
Goes to show what I mean when I speak of the context in which it was found.
It's prolly natural, but I'm sure that the natives had it. It would be intresting to find out where the nearest deposite of that type of stone is to you.
BTW, I woulda kept it too dear.

Re: Another, What is it?
Molly, a "bopper" is a tool used to take flakes off a spall, to thin it down to preform shape, they are called billets also...

Could be a Celt.

A stone wedge that's textured on the bottom, that's easy.
It's a door stop.

Re: Another, What is it?
Shawn I will keep it. It's pretty obvious that Indians picked up natural stone too, just like we do. Also
the context of which it was found. I haven't seen any stones quiet like this material before..
Thanks for the info.
Molly.
