another slate point and a one made from shale

& here was me thinking rhyolite is rough. Still nice finds, least they are whole & identifiable.

Jpitt, there was no doubt here. I know that there are slate and shale points out there i have found them. The first one is a definite possibility. The second one although shares the same type as a morrow mountain it does not exhibit any definitive flaking scars. You stated you found that one in the field. Well I have tossed many that looked like the same. Why because they did not exhibit nothing close to a flaking scar and it was not grinded into form. If that was a true artifact it would show some signs of work to it. That base on it is as close to the base of a real point, but as i said it would have some form of work to it and is probably the result of collision with another stone or plow and it formed the one in a million look alike. I believe that it is not a arrowhead. Sorry.........Now you just posted these arrowheads and you can clearly see the signs of workmanship on the base and throughout the point. Look at those as your examples and you'll see the first one in your previous post does resemble the flaking scars like these two, but the second one has no type of flaking scar like all the rest. Use those as your examples.........GTP
