    Central Texas finds (Paleo ?)

Here are a few picks of some of the many artifacts that I have recovered from a gravel bar off a river in central Texas. Most of the artifacts were choppers, stone tools or axes, scrapers, and pecking tools. Most of the artifacts were made out of chert cobble which is readily available at the site. I am almost sure these are paleo artifacts. No arrowheads were found. I was hunting last week on this gravel bar for a couple of hours and recovered over 50 pieces. These are just a few pieces. More pics will be put up later.. Any suggestions are welcome..

Yes I read your other topic ,,gravel bar. I am no expert at all I just have hunted a long time. My two cent advice is all that I have but that is all worked material but if its Paleo I do not know. I still think what you are seeing is where they were collecting and testing the material to haul back to camp. Its like being in the produce section at the store, lol you check and test everything before you take it home. Also on a creek that big flaked stuff gets carried by the water pretty easy so look more upstream or on a rise nearby for smaller flaked stuff and you may find a site and see if they were making other things.
I say this because we have found the quarry sites where they got their materials. Lots of similiar items to what you are seeing.
Be interested to know if you locate a site. Good luck.
