Fort Ancient Site.
This is Joe from southern Ohio.
Just thought I would send some pictures I took while at the Fort Ancient Site on the old Goldcamp farm this past Sunday. You have saw where Dorkfish mentioned the site as he hunts it and has showed a lot of his finds at the site.
All I can find anymore is broken artifacts. Anyway just sending pictures of the ground so you can see what a village looks like. The ground is covered with shell, bone, and pottery pieces as you can see from the pictures.

Re: Fort Ancient Site.
Nice pictures Joe. I love hunting the Goldcamp Site just because of all of the bone, shell, flint, and pottery that litters the site. You just never know what you are going to run across there. Like you said though, most of what you find is broken, especially the delicate Serrated Triangles but you do find one occasionally that is a real killer. I love finding the Beads that are found there as well as the Pendants, Stone Discs, Antler Arrowpoints, Pipes, and lots of other things. It's a shame that Bottleneck Point was broken since it would have been a nice one. Did you find it on the village or out on the big ridges?
I haven't found a lot up there this year, but I did find a few nice pieces a couple of weeks ago. Here's a picture of what I found in two trips om consecutive days. The first two pictures are what I found on June 3rd and the last two are what I found on June 4th. Two really nice Flint Chisels, some nice Beads, a really nice Shell Pendant, a Drilled Tooth, and the usual array of broken points.
Thanks for putting up the pictures. I need to get back up there before the corn gets to high to hunt it.

Hello Steve. I found the broken bottleneck point where the red dot is on the google map. I found a few points in that area over the years.
The other pictures are some of the artifacts found at the village over the years.

Ah yeah, the site up by the barn. I too have found a few really nice points up there. I've also got a few nice marbles from the old house site at the end of that field.
Nice trays from the village Joe. I see some really nice Serrated Triangles in there as well as some nice Birdpoints and other pieces. Your Drilled Tooth looks just like the one I just found and is made from a Molar that has been split in half and the broken edge ground flat. That is the first one like that I have found there. A buddy of mine has one that has been done the same way except they cut a groove around the top for suspension instead of drilling it.
Thanks for the pics Joe.

Re: Fort Ancient Site.
SoIll, unfortunately this site is above the dam and even when the water is really low during the summer pool there isn't hardly any bank at all at this location.
