    hafted scrapers from northern ohio

since i haven't posted anything for a while, i thought i would share some of my hafted scrapers. most of you have found one or more of these on your sites. most are made from broken projectile points, but i believe that some were intentionally made. three quarters of an inch seems to be the max length. some people group end scrapers with their hafted scrapers, but hafted scrapers are a separate type (thus the "hafting" or "with a handle"). end scrapers (or thumb scrapers) are also common tools.

thanks, greg. fyi, those two were found about 10 yds from each other. they are of the same material, and i always have thought that the same person made them both.

Nice Hafted Scrapers mickey. I have always liked these little tools and I agree that some were made intentionally and not just from broken points.
