    Hixton ?

If so, conceiveably an as-made Crowfield that's longer than usual. In that case, probably a rudimentary flute.

A lot depends on where it's from.

My opinion (which is worth about what you're paying for it).

    Re: Fluted or not

Sorry. Hixton Silicified Sandstone (aka Hixton Quartzite) is what it looks like it's made of. From Wisconsin as I recall, and shows up over a surprisingly wide area.

Spanish Diggings Quartzite would be closer to home, but it looks too coarse textured for that.

    About out of ideas.

    Re: Fluted or not

The hinging on this one says not fluted. The flaking was done from different angles to get the results you are seeing. Nice point.

Hinging being were a flake terminated causing a ridge in the point.

    Re: Fluted or not

Based on the location and the material, I'd say it's from the archaic Pinto cluster. (Pintos come in a lot of shapes and sizes, some of them are small points with notches, but some of the larger points are a lot like that.) Google Pinto Basin and you'll see some pictures.
