Ontario Paleo to Early Archaic Points & Tools

If you haven't run into it,

    http://www.ssc.uwo.ca/anthropology/cje/sites.htm

is a fantastic resource for anybody up that way. By the time you've gone through the various site links, you've got a good introduction to the way uniface tools (endscrapers in particular) changed over time, along with the points.

    Highly recommended.

Man they really do go nuts on the digging for a few scrapers and flakes on some of those "sites". I wonder what they'd do if they had something like Larsons field up there? Seriously, a few of those sites were weak at best, some others were awesome.
Just because you find some flakes doesn't mean it's a good site really.

The point of the exercise (excavating) is to learn what people were doing and when.

    Trying to reconstruct history.

    Not to collect trophies.

I understand that. I need to develop a better eye apparently. Some of the long thin fluted points are amazing.
