Beautiful Day 07-17-09
Like I replied to airborn80's post about praying to the indian gods, I walked a half mile of creek today, had a big beaver slap his tail at me just before he dove under, had a deer walk up on me within 10 yards, she didn't see me until I went for my camera. The weather was just right, the creek was just right, just couldn't find a thing until the last 100 yards or so just after praying to the old ones to give me one good one and just like that 10 feet or so I spot this peice, I dont know what it is or was going to be, but it was what I needed to make it a perfect day. Im going the other dirrection tomorrow, can't wait, I am feeling froggy. Also came up with a leaf off a old crock, whats the odds of that. Thanks for looking and good luck to all.. JYD...

Re: Beautiful Day 07-17-09
Man that looks like the creeks in my area....Northeast Missouri. Next time take your rod and reel there should be smallmouth in that creek...if not smallmouth you'll surely catch some bluegill for dinner. Just tie a stringer to your belt loop and you're all set.
Of course when I try that I end up finding myself a quarter mile upstream of my rod because I laid it down on a gravel bar to search for points and one step led to another and pretty soon its not a fishing/rock hunting trip anymore just a rock hunting trip....
Good looking creek and nice finds.

Right nice core, JD. And super blade tools !
You're fortunate to have creeks like that one. Up here they're solid red from 130 years of coal mine sulfer-&-acid drainage.
