this is one of the smallest points I have found

That is so cool. I just wonder how there was enough weight to keep the flight true. Very cool point.

Do you suppose it might be a dart point, used in a blowgun? I didn't think they used stone points on blowgun darts, but maybe. Then again, some very small points penetrated very well into some very large animals.

RGINN, I don't think they had blow guns and I am fairly sure about this

the bows they used were only about 3 feet long but quite powerful

Americus, I have a few areas where the ground is cluttered with flakes, broken pottery, etc.
in order to surface hunt for these small pieces I sometimes put on a set of kneepads and gloves and crawl slowly along like a turtle
this is not a good way to cover much ground but it is very thorough & I have found small points, little fish hooks, beads, etc. like this
maybe only one or two pieces in an afternoon but it has worked (I probably look pretty silly doing this but nobody is around any way)

Found a tiny endscraper once on a river site -- about the size of the last joint of my middle finger. I suspect it was a child's toy. Maybe the points here were the same ?

uniface, I have thought about this also.

I agree.I have often and for a long time suspected that the very small points i find are or were used and possibly made by children for their entertainment and to possibly learn how to knapp flint, which i would think they would probably start at a very young age.that has to be about the smallest point i have seen larson.nice pic
