    Very Early Archaic Unifaces

Ran into pix of five uniface scrapers from the Stringtown Site in southwestern Franklin Co., Ohio. Points from it are sometimes called late paleo (three types of stemmed points not real unlike the general Scottsbluff stuff further west but not as well made, and often with basal spurs).

    Scroll down. Pics enlarge.

The idea behind posting this is that while scrapers or unifaces may not be your thing, developing a rough idea of tool forms gives you an idea of what points to be looking for on a given site.

I like those Adena tablets a couple pages over. Too bad they don't have bigger pics.

Put "flint" in the search box there -- 96 hits including some Clovis points & rare stuff from mounds.
