    Piece Esquilles

    French term for Splitting Wedge. Dr. Gramley ID'd this as one when I showed it to him after a talk he gave.

    Another Tom Davis junk box treasure find from many years ago. Tennessee or Kentucky, I'd guess.

    Notice the heavy edge battering.

    That looks like a fairly common material / item here in Tennessee. We always called them blanks. But now we know better
