Found a couple of points and scrapers
We had 2 inches of rain last night and the weather was really mild today(temps in the 80's), so we decided to go check some gravel bars. Found a couple of points--my daughter found the biggest one (2 1/2"). I found a smaller point(1 1/4") that I thought was broken at first, but after looking at it, I'm not so sure. I think its made from Permian chert(?). Not sure on the type of either of these (if anyone can tell us we would appreciate it!!).
Also found some cool scrapers--one is a uniface and the other two are broken---I think these are thumb scrapers .
My daughter found a huge piece of Florence(?) chert and we found lots of flint.
The best part is we didn't see any SNAKES!!! We had our snake dog, Blazer, with us but he had to go take a nap cause he was all tuckered out from looking for arrowheads .
Thanks for looking! First pics are in-situ's and I will "reply" with cleaned up pics.

Good Sandcreek, it was a great day to be outside. I was inside, but it was a great day to be out. That poor puppy looks worn out, you should go easier on him. IMHO, it is a chunk of florence A, Maybe the longer point is a yarbrough, and the triangle one is Maybe a tortugas. Maybe. I hope someone who knows chimes in. Good finds, I'm glad someone got to enjoy this weather.

Thanks thirty7! Blazer is a good dog and he stays right with us--he's always checking on the kids to make sure they're okay. Loves to play in the creek, too .

Yes, me and the girls had a good time! The littlest one didn't find anything but had fun throwing sticks for Blazer into the creek.

Thanks TnMtns! We tried to get some good shots so you all could see the different lithics that we find at this spot. It seems like maybe this was a major camp and we find stuff on both sides of the creek. There is a big hole of water that never goes dry and lots of hickory nut trees. The creek banks are really steep and we found lots of flint stuck in them.
Glad you enjoyed the pics and thanks for the comments!

Thanks naturegirl--I'll look up "yarbrough" and "tortugas" . Thanks too, on the info about the chunk of Florence A--I don't know if I'll ever learn all the different lithics for Oklahoma, but its fun trying . It was a very enjoyable day at the creek!!
kind regards~~sandcreek
