    Knife, Axe or Scraper?

    Found this tool made from some pretty sorry material this weekend on an Arkansas River gravel bar:



    It has a large, porous chert inclusion in the center. It makes me wonder why the maker chose such a bad piece of raw material.

    that is an OLD piece....i find alot of those in nevada...maybe he needed it rightt now and grabbed the first usable piece of material.....it apears to be a scraper/knife combo...would like to see more pics.....call me an idiot but how long and how wide is it...how heavy...if it is light it woouldnt be an axe.
