River hunt 7/31
I decided to jump in the kayak and scout some new spots now that the river is coming down. Slim pickens for most of the first four hours, found two points and a scraper/ uniface tool. Then I headed upstream towards an eroded point that looked promising. I spotted a some flint before I got out of the yak, turned out to be a small cache blade. Then I found a super thin uniface knife with spokeshave, by far the thinnest thing I've found, I cant believe it survived thousands of years intact, it's channel flake thin. I also found another point, couple of heartbreakers, and a bunch of red quartzite uniface tools and a broken knife/ preform. Most of this was right at the waters edge and should get even better in a couple weeks. I'll bring the camera next time to show the site and hopefully get some insitus. Thanks for looking, happy hunting.

I bet you will need an extra kayak once that water gets down to haul with. Looks like a lot of really nice worked stuff. That thin knife with the spoke shave knapped out is really nice. Look forward to seeing what else you find.

Good Heaven, Thirty7, looks like you did real good after your slow start.
Very nice haul, and a fine variety. (I volunteer to paddle that 2nd "yak".)

thanks Solll, I was thinking it may be, it looks like it could have easily hafted. Its got the familiar curve of a flake, sort of an unusual piece.

Thanks bravo, it was slow going until I found this small point in the river that was littered with flakes and artifacts. " I volunteer to paddle that 2nd "yak". " anytime man, I'll put us on some flint.
