    Mailbox Finds

I just got these in the mail today from miamivalleyartifacts.com. There are 60 Points and Drills in this tray and I got a great deal on them. These were found by Art Coleman on the McCrae Site located on Little River Road in Christian county Kentucky. He then sold them to Charlie Wagers in December 2002 and then I bought them from Scott Yerkes of miamivalleyartifacts.com who had gotten them from Charlie.

There are some very fine examples of Ft Ancient Madison Triangles in this bunch with Concave Base, Convex Base, and Straight Base types represented in the group.

Thanks to Scott for the awesome deal and for the getting them to me very quickly and packed really well so none were damaged in transit.

very nice. this culture perfected knapping even more so than the archaic. i have triangles that are as small as a thumb nail and whose workmanship is unsubstantiated.

Thanks guys and gals. I don't normally buy a lot since I really can't afford to, but with the great deal I got (around $4 each) and the great history with them I couldn't pass it up. There are some really fine pieces in that bunch.

They are fine representations of an area. I like them and the price. I wish I could change my ways and buy some stuff besides s. american. I am stuck right now with three points and a granite axe that were given to me. I keep it in a seperate cabinet because I did not find it. If I ever started buying I would probably go wild and disapear.
Those triangulars are similiar to the ones here. Very very Nice Steve.

I'm glad you enjoy them Steve. I knew somebody would fall head over heels for them. Charlie is one of the great collectors of our time and has what many would call one of the best collections ever assembled. He is knew so many of the old timers and hunted with them as well. I'm sure there will be more pieces coming out in the near future. Thanks, Scott www.miamivalleyartifacts.com
