Not sure Hard to tell from the picture. Is the material something you find points made out of?

Hmmmm.... thats a good question. I have found many "flakes" and fragments of this same material and more than a few questionable ones just like this one. They pass the "Airborne Break test" which is a test that I do on questionable items. If I can easily break them with minimal pressure, I discard them. I know.... its not very scientific, but I have faith that our ancestors only used material that was al least strong enough to penetrate a target. This one and the others like it passed. I keep them until the Jury returns with a verdict.

Roger that. They do have the Morrow Mountain feel and look and are certainally strong enough to do the job. As I write this... I picked it up and gave it a good look and i have to believe that its a fishing point. It was in the water along the shore of the fishing village site and when you hold it..... it screams artifact.

thank you for your thoughts and know that I do agree with you. Especially in my area.... with the exception of the beautiful white quartz.... much of the material would not win a point beauty contest but I love them all the same. And with the very very old ones, I think the thought on the makers mind was more about efficiency as opposed to beauty. thats not to imply that they did not care about looks , as I believe that they took great pride in thier work. But in many cases along the shore of this ancient fishing village site... where points were often lost after one use... i beleieve that they manufactured a lot and used/lost a lot and especially in very ancent times, focused on a product that would do its job.
