8/18/09 recent finds (insitus)
Hey folks,I brought the camera along today to get some insitu pictures. Scored the best point of the day with a headlamp around 4:45 am. Managed to rescue a few points and tools before it started sizzling out there. Last pic is everything I picked up, larger stone pieces are hammerstone on the left, possible celt preform on the right. Have a good one.

Heat rarely stops me. Hat, canteen, sweat rag and a pair of shades.
I would stay on a site that good for hours in the sun. Excellent stuff.

thanks GL, I know what you mean, I had just enough energy to paddle back upstream. Good thing is I found a couple productive spots I was unaware of.
Thanks uni, and greg, sorry to hear about your truck, it sucks when your geared up to go and the unexpected happens.

That early archaic bi-bevelled point stub is just cute as a puppy.
Of course, the scrapers are the good part : )

I really like the little guy, got all the trademarks, basal grinding, thinning strikes, beveled edges. I'm leaning towards Ecusta, because all sides are beveled to a meridian ridge. I knew you'd appreciate the scrapers, nice little hard to see thumbnail scraper with good edgework. Possible early endscraper too, looks exhausted, you want it? pm me your addy, and it's yours.

What a good hunt. Are you pulling a second yak for all your rocks ? That was a really good day. Not many like that when you come in with so many pieces. I am getting out of the creek we even raked all the underwater bars to hit them twice. Going to hit the big water. Hopefully will we have a hunt like yours. Thanks for sharing.

Appreciate the comments Richard. My yak has a compartment that holds a good amount. Plus I emptied all the pockets on my vest to hold my finds, If I every get lucky enough to need an extra vessel, I'll get primitive and construct a makeshift barge and tow it along, lol, i wish. Good luck in the big river. regards, Ryan
