    Yard Sale Find

    This looks to be an aztec bowl and pedestal that my brother picked up at a yard sale for $10.00.

    If I'm not mistaken those are novlety tourist items you can pick up in Mexico. I have seen quite a few of those at shows, flea markets, and yard sales for anywhere from $10 to $100. They are cool, but I don't believe they are old.

    I agree, doesn't show any wear from use on the inside of the mortar or the end of the pestle. Still a cool decorative item.

    dont discount it yet,the ones i saw for the tourist trade were rough all over and made of basalt,yours looks to have some polish to the pestal and also inside the mano where you would want polish,you might have stumbled on a good one
