A Dandy Axe Found On 9-05-09!

My hunting buddy and I went out to a field that was harvested
for tomatoes not too long ago. It wasn't that hot of a spot yet
due to recent activity so we made are way out of the field and
hunted the edge of the corn along a drive between fields. As we
were leaving I motioned to follow a run off that leads into the
field of high corn but, what we knew led to what I call a wetland
bowl about a quarter mile wide. To our surprise the bowl wasn't
farmed this year due to muddy conditions. It wasn't much farther
that the axe was found. It has a couple small dings and very few
unnoticeable scratches. This is probably due to this spot not being
farmed from time to time and moist ground conditions. The axe is
8.25 in X 5.5 in and my "best biggest" to date. Whoo Hoo!

Now that is one honking axe. Can you just imagine the strength and stamina it would take to use something like that on a daily basis....heck, just toting it around would be a workout. Still, for crushing wood, something that 'weighty' would certainly do the job.
