    10/04 ohio field finds

went out to ole faithful for a few hours.found a couple dozen brokes and a couple hafted scrapers.also found an odd piece.it looked like some kind of uniface when i found it,but not so sure now that i got it cleaned up.the material is killer,green/white chalecondy flint ridge.it is a uniface other than a little work around the edges, odd piece.and the latest/cutest addition to the family her name is clovis, thought you guys and gals would like that.now if i can only teach her to find headz.u ever seen two trees grow together?good luck hunting everyone.

Great pics and finds Greg, thanks for the view. That is one cute pup, she's a beauty, looks like a good hunting companion. Teach her to sniff out the artimafacts at an early age, haha.

Nice hafted scrapers, that ridge tool looks like an early core tool I was reading about the other day(I'll see if I can find that page and link it here) really nice material on that piece.

    Re: 10/04 ohio field finds

Hey Greg, here's the link I was talking about. I'm really not sure though to be honest but imo it looks similar to early core technology, a thick flake driven off a prepared core then retouched or modified. I found this similar piece on an early site that has produced late paleo lanceolate types and also some fluted points, and uniface tools.

thx for the link 37,kind of made me look at my piece a little closer.it appears to have been hafted, base has been thinned.it does look to have been used as a sidescraper and maybe a knife,it also has some large serrations.combination tool is my guess.but whether its a paleo piece is a mystery.

You guys kill me living so close to the happy hunting grounds....Have you ever considered digging deep looking for other artifacts?
