Uniface Square blade knife/scraper found on Lake Travis, TX

Here is some pics of a nice piece I found on Lake Travis on Friday afternoon. The lake is still way down even after the rain, but all the runoff is washing silt and sand away in some places right up to the waters edge. Most of the sand and silt was sitting on top of the limestone outcrops, but the rain is exposing some areas. This piece was finely flaked as you can see. I am thinking it may be an early artifact, I was hoping to see what UNIFACE has to say about this one. It is square, and is an end scraper on one side, and one of the other sides has been finely thinned to be a knife I believe. I have suspicion to believe it's early b/c I think i found the middle section of a clovis type point, the flaking seems similar to pieces I have seen on the internet. I will post that piece later. Hope you guys enjoy... Heading out tomorrow to check the rest of the area. Oh, and Uniface, this artifact was found in the same area as the Limace I found a while back...

I'm going to have to think about that one for a while, Abarnard. Offhand, it looks something like a preform end with a prepared striking platform (nipple) for fluting ; fluting strike maybe plunged through it, subsequently re-cycled.

    Interesting !

Nice artifact. I was just down that way last week, but it was for a wake, so didn't get to do any hunting.

Thanks for the replies. I went today, but nothing to post.. I need to wait for a couple more hard rains to erode the hillside I guess. Oh well, it was nice to get out.

Thanks you all, it is definitely an out of the ordinary looking find for me to say the least. JonnyReb, I probably saw you tearing up the wake on Lake Travis this past weekend. Saw lots of people wakeboarding. That's always good fun...

My guess would be that they're from the same time frame.

If I were you, and finding stuff like that, I'd be thinking about becoming a recreational diver

Uniface, believe me I have already thought about that, man I think it would be well worth my time. I already have my diving license, I just have to take a refresher course. The water on Lake Travis is Crystal clear. Produce guy, I found it on the Northern end where my friends parents have a boat slip that goes up to the lake. Thanks for the replies.
