Small cache of Flint Ridge Adena Blades, Ohio, x - Converse , looks like they were all made off the same core. Got any Flint Ridge blades? post em in here lets see some eye candy.
This is why you are in charge in virginia.let me see what i can dig up?thats a real nice set of blades you got there.unquestionably from the same block of flint.killr
I don't have many pieces of Flint Ridge as we don't find many in Illinois. This is the only one that I have a picture of handy but its not a blade. The dove was found near Harrisburg in Illinois which is on the very South Eastern Edge of the state. It is about 5 inches long
thx 37,not as nicely chipped as your blades, may have to dig out some stuff i dont have pics of,your blades are making me jealous.
Yeah but you've got sites that could produce artifacts like those. I can only buy it, or hope to find a rare and random piece in WV, I've never found any ridge in Va.
I had to have a piece of the ridge so I bought this kirk at the Collinsville show.
Not really a blade, but I thought I'd share.
It's from Sharpsburg KY.
Spectacular point Solll, a killer in all regards. I know Kirks vary alot from area to area and it could be a Kirk, but with the large notches and expanding base, it could be a Motley?

thats funny you mentioned that.when i first looked at it i thought it was more like a hopewell point than a kirk, kirks usually have much narrower notches.i once got into a debate with matt rowe on motleys, and from that debate he ruled out a motley being found that far out of the area of distribution,mo.,arks.okla.so who knows.i know its a killer piece.
Thanks for the compliments.
I just say Kirk because that was what the guy who sold it was calling it.
I think "Kirk" gets stuck on a lot of points that aren't really that type.
you are killin me 37,promised the ole lady i would get some stuff done around the house today.there isnt a cloud in the sky and its approaching 70 degrees,I should be in a creek. And now you are showin some killer ridge!may have to go get some bread & milk and say i got lost.thing with that is i better find some good stuff, then i can justify being in the dog house
Haha, I know what you mean. I'm having a tough time staying in on this really nice day, I feel like I played two football games from kayaking up river and hunting yesterday. Good luck if you hit the creeks.
Sweet Ohio frame trevmma, those three blades sure look like flint ridge to me, niceuns too. Killer lost lake and Cosh. blade(looks like an early piece from here)...thanks for sharing.
