Imo it's possibly a plummet or possibly a geofact that looks like one. It's interesting whatever it may be, I would have brought it home too.

Is it symetrical, evenenly rounded all the way around?

Plummet is what I was thinking as well. It is symetrical and evenly rounded...definitely not a geofact.

Might be a fancy nutting stone or maybe a pestle. Is that a groove in it or is it raised? I can't tell from the pic.

not a geofact from this view! possibly a plummet preform. maybe nutting stone or pestle like savant said. whats the material?
