My one and only hunt in 2009
I had gotten hurt back in the spring/summer this year and was unable to hunt any fields. I have finally healed up enough to where I can walk around and do whatever I want to do again. A ruptured tendon in the foot is no fun whatsoever! Takes forever to heal. Anyway, I figured that the new field my friend had planted tobacco in this year had already grown up with the cover crop. I drove by there one day for the heck of it and found that the field was bare. I figured that if I was going to go this year, I had better do it soon. I went out about 3 weeks ago when we had a 70 degree, sunny day. I wasn't counting on finding much. I just wanted to walk a field again. Much to my surprise, I found a narrow-stemmed Adena, a resharpened Kirk cornernotch, two hammerstones, one crude knife, a hafted scraper, and a few other tools. I was excited to say the least! The crazy thing is, I still get as excited finding a good arrowhead at age 43 as I did when I was 10. I can't wait til he plows the field this coming spring.
Thanks for looking.

Sorry about the quality of the pics. My camera is just about shot. Of course, it could be the user too...

I know exactly how you feel. I've been hunting for 44 years and I still get that same giddy feeling every time I find something.
Very nice finds Adena_man. I'm glad to hear you are healed up and able to get around and back into the fields again.
Congrats on the great finds and thanks for the pictures.

Thanks Thirty7! Yes, I think the cornernotch is made of hornstone. There is a lot of it around here.
Good luck!

LOL! Thanks TNMountains! I didn't realize how much I had missed hunting arrowheads this year until I got out in the field.

Thanks SRV! My friend who owns the farm thinks its hilarious. He says he can always tell when I've found something, I have a great big grin on my face....
Good luck!

Thanks Chuck! It was laying flat out on the ground as if someone had laid it there for me to find. I need to start taking my camera along.
