Freaking arctic weather here for the last 3 weeks, it's getting old. That bone is actually an old boars tusk, I've found three in that area. When I reached to pick it up the rest of the little triangle to the right of the tusk appeared. You can just make out the right side of the base. I don't know how long it's been since wild pigs roamed this part of va, but the two could possibly be related. It would be pretty cool if that triangle took that boar. Just speculation on my end, but a possibility none the less.

Nice axe insitu, killer
yea this snow and cold is gettin real old.suppose to get sum high 30s next week.woohoo!!went back and looked at the boar tusk pic,i can see the edge of that tri sticking out, very cool.i should have said in the post that the axe was found by my girlfriend, she went hunting 4 or 5 times with me last year and this was her first hunt of 09,we were in the field for 20 minutes when she found it.she always does that crap.also the blade in the pic before that axe was her find.
Awesome insitus pickaway! great year of hunting man. Is that hardstone piece a grooved hammer? The last point looks like a resharpened Dalton Nuckolls, I realize it could be a drill of a different type but it sure reminds me of this DN from Ky.
