2 hour hunt 2-2-10 pic

Got out today for just a couple hours....was going to spend all day but decided to get my taxes done first.

Anyhow, found this nice blade (?) in a creek...as usual since that's all I have. Too bad the base is broken off. Forgot to put a tape next to it for size reference but it measures 2.5 inches long by 1.75 inches wide and is less than 0.25 inch thick. You can really see the thinning strikes toward the sides on this one...don't know if they showed up in the pic.

Does anyone have a guess on type? It looks to me like the only part of the base broke off is the base itself...I'm thinking it didn't have ears or if it did they were very short.

If I called it a snapped base done on purpose everyone would go nuts on here. I do not know how you would identify it now other than by size and type of flaking and IMAGINING what the base would have looked like,lol. Its a killer find though great insitu and purdy material. Nice find Arher !
