    4-8-2010 What a killer morning

Heres how I did today. The blade is 6 and a half, and thin to the wind. Also another Cahokia. I am thrilled.

Will You Please Train Me? Lol! Man, that blade is unreal. What would you type it? Feel free to show us a side view. You just do not see points that size turning up very often. Sheesh.

    Congrats,

You gotta be shi**in me!!! Another killer find in a week. You are doing something right. This is definitely worth another banner!

That is a Morse Knife for all of you who don't know. Morse Knifes are supposed to Red Ochre culture in origin and are occasionally found with Turkey Tail points.

Great finds John and awesome in situ pictures. That Morse Knife is sweet and another Cahokia is just too cool. There must be a cache of those washing out somewhere right in there.

Congrats on the great finds and thanks for the pictures.

I'd say it's a Morse knife, and between it and the Cahokia another banner day. You're my new hero. Seriously.

Re: 4-8-2010 What a killer morning

The big knife is very nice, is it from the same site as the Cahokia points? It looks like a classic Morse knife as Hippy pointed out, but there is also a dagger varient of the Ramey Knife found on some Mississippian (Cahokia) sites. If it was found close to the Cahokia points I'd say it's probably Mississippian and related to the points.

John that is just a awsome knife, and the cahokias are great. you have a very nice creek there and I hope you keep pulling them out. Missouri has some great artifacts and you have found quite a few in the last week or so. good luck.... JYD...
