yesterdays desert hunt, how to survive a a lightning storm 101

So yesterday was overcast and i decided to get out for a bit. I saw storms forming around me and a large one peeking over the mountain tops. Nice overcast, i thought to myself well if im out then the snakes will be too, so i saw sure to keep my eyes in front of me. I thought i might get wet, so i brought a ziplock for the electronics, but when i got to my location i started hearing thunder, and i just thought to myself O........... S***. And sure enough big white flash and then crack. I was like omg im in the flats and im gonna die, i threw my metal flipper far away and i just layed down terrified, i just kept remembering all the storries on tv and i was thinking i might as well be golfing on a golf course. I called my cousin to let her know the area i was at in case something were to happen, and just laying there i somehow became calm, i just waited it through and fifteen mins later it passed I got up soaking wet but continued on, and i took some pictures throughout the day, and the day did pay off with one decent find

I dunno if its cause im older or have a daughter , i may have kept on walking if i was younger, but yesterday i was scarred out of my mind, it was a horrible feeling.

Those are the hunts you remember. Sometimes you just have to wait them out. I have put a life jacket on and tied a rope on me and floated down the river behind the boat in a bad storm one time. Not sure if it was smart or not but a lot warmer than the hard driving rain. Glad you made it ok.

mlly, tn and jamie, thanks guys im glad to be ok too molly, i love ur little mammoth guy, tn, im fraid to ask WHY you would be tied behind a boat in a river, cause lightning right? man i would just die in that situation cause im afraid of the river monsters as well...... ya, thats a horrible situation
