A couple more gifts today--incl. Smokin' Celt

My friend from work surprised me again today. After giving me a very
fine Adena yesterday he was waiting for me at work with two more
pieces. I thanked him profusely. He has been finding them while cleaning
out the old farmhouse .The desk he's been finding the artifacts in-isn't in the barn,
(like I thought) but it's a huge built in affair that's in the old house
(well over 100 yrs old).He grew up there but had no idea that his parents had
any artifacts. He suggests that they may have been found by his Dad
or Grandpa. He assumes they found them working the farm and probably
just tossed them in the drawers. He is very kind to give them to me, but
he knows my desire to preserve them , so he was very glad to let me
have them. Originally he gave me a fine celt a few years back and has
invited me to hunt his fields which has led to finds of my own--now the pics.
First up is a busted Hopewell he gave me this morning

Looks to be heat treated Chalcedony

Also given to me today was this very fine celt


This piece has lots of patina from the "drawer" but very little if
any farm implement damage

Thanks for looking--And thanks again to my friend--A very
generous guy who has trusted me with his family's heirlooms.
He gets a thrill out of the fact that I've assigned his farm as
Site 128, and that I'm actively preserving the history of his
family's farm--That might be the best gift I can give him.

Looks like a Woodland site covering from the early to the late Woodland. Very cool that your friend is giving you these pieces.

Very Nice, I have had friends give me artifacts, but nothing like the celt it is fantastic..
