    A Quick Labor Day Hunt

We stopped by my wife's aunts house on Labor Day for a short visit and since they live right on the Ohio River I decided to hit the beach for a little while to try my luck. I have found a few points there before and figured I might get lucky and I found 3 nice points in about 45 minutes. I didn't have my camera with me since I didn't know we were stopping there and hadn't planned on a hunt so there's just the cleaned up pics after I got home.

I found a nice Spokeshave made from what looks to a broken Hopewell Point. I found another Hopewell Point with a needle tip made from some really nice Flint Ridge and a nice looking Kirk Stemmed which looks to be made from Rhyolite and would be only my 3rd Rhyolite point I've ever found in my area. Not a very common material here.

That kirk is really nice. I am amazed you are still finding them on the river even after it has been down for so long (no footprints ehh?). Around here you have to hit it early and often!

Chuck, I don't think very many, if any, walk this spot. I have yet to see any footprints on any of the trips I've been there. If her aunt and uncle weren't so "uppity" I would make more trips but I usually only go there when my wife is with me and while she visits I hit the beach. lol

All I can say is Wow. The rocks are very nice! Great spot. I need to look on the river down here. Didn't make the trip up the river Monday, I had to fix the tractor. Maybe Friday. I will call you and let you know. Thanks for the pictures. And keep Rockin.
