Point? Tool? Maybe just a rock.

Found this last year in the garden, I don't know if I should keep it or toss it back. All comments welcome. Thanks.

Ain't that a dalton? Reminds me of questions I used to get when the kids were little. Hey! You said all comments are welcome .

So thats what it takes to get noticed by the lay days, swirly fingertips.

Just a rock but, with that outline I would have definitely given it a second glance had it been laying on the riverbank. Keep at it.

Many things we find could have been put to use in the field on spur of the moment for a particular task and then tossed, but I believe this is just a rock. It caught my eye at first though.

Thanks for the comments. I agree the piece above is probably a rock. But just because a piece doesn't show obvious work doesn't allways mean its not an artifact. The pieces below are obvious artifacts but show very little of the original work done to them, they are allmost smooth. Quartzite just doesn't last as long as quality flint. Thanks again for the comments and I will keep my eyes peeled.

Although I have found several coastal points that have been tumbled for centuries, they ALWAYS showed some evidence of flaking....Sorry, Charlie Brown, all you got there is a rock !
