My MOO COW Point!! And some other nice ones too!
Hi Folks !
My Dad and I got out for a while today and decided to walk a field on our way back to a wooded area to dig an old bottle dump. On the way I found a real nice point that has the coolest pattern on it . I call it my moo-cow point. Found a few others and then it was time to hit the dump. The very first hole my Dad dug had pontiled pieces of glass in it dateing back to the 1850's. Everything was broken and all of a sudden Dad yells out. I look over and he is pointing at a killer archaic corner notch made of flint ridge calcedoney laying in his hole. Got a couple pictures of it and then went back to digging. Only a few seconds later he yells out a gain and there in the hole lays a nice flint ridge blade in really nice color. Got a couple pictures and then we figured they had dumped a box full in there so we really started digging and never found another. It was pretty awesome to see those found in the dump like that. Someone took the time to pick them up 150 to 160 years ago and then someone in the house pitched them with the trash. The bottles were all broke up but the points were perfect. Whew....what a day.

Hey everyone,
I'm tempted to go back to the dump with my sifter. The ones that Dad popped out were real easy to see though. We were digging right in the trash layer so I really think they were tossed out. Makes you think there might be a bunch more. Lets here some opinions. What would you do? Sift or no? It would be no easy task sifting a glass dump.

love that multi color point Twig! if i had fount that dump i would be going back with a long timed rake or my four timed garden cultivator and my 1/4 inch screen would not use bigger than 1/2 inch! rake the dirt to get out biggest pieces of trash then screen, after you screen area where points were found then you will know how much of the dump would like to screen ... lol.
