"Frankenspear" What the heck was it supposed to be?
Found this the other day in Pa.
Also found the blade in the same field.
What do you think it was on it's way to be? Perhaps some kid was practicing? There is also a divot in the center as if the maker was starting to drill a hole.
I've considered that it could be a geofact...but this is too symmetrical.

I agree with Joshua. It looks like they started trying to make a Celt but may have given up since the material looks rather rough and was probably hard to work.

If that is some sort of argillite-based material, it may be a preform that has weathered badly over time. Fresh argillite works well, but in the ground it weathers very quickly and loses chipping detail.
