    Broken Base question

    Hey guys,
Relic hunter here but love finding points as well.
This weekend I was digging a target and found this in the hole with it-my first thought since it is right at 1" sqare was, "cool, a flintlock flint"-put it in my pocket and went on. When I got home and cleaned it up, it definitely is not a flintlock flint as it is not structured and beveled like those, but definitely is a broken base.
Doing some research, it appears it is either a base of a clovis, dalton variety or maybe redstone? I dont know that much but those varieties are not too common her in the upper part of SC.
    Any ID would be appreciated.

hard to say. Base looks ground,,,, has auricles...maybe a dalton? See what the experts say. Good eye ball find.
