We do not inherit the land from our ancestors, We borrow it from our children.

I think you should camp there....it`s not everyday that one finds a paleo site. The hill must have a view. How close is the nearest water?

The camp is on the southwest side of the hill and there is a bowl or low spot about 100 yrds to the west . I have found 4 paleo sites in Gaines Co. and the set-up on all 4 is the same , "Nice hill and a bowl or low spot within 100 yrds", Water. It has been so hot and dry here, If we make it to July the 13th with no rain , that will have been one year with no rain, NO rain at all!! No ground cover , the sand is blowing off , finding alot of camps i never knew was there.

Pic 0004 looks like the tip of an Eden point. Perfect diamond crossection, right width, etc.

Cool as Hell. Man, I'd like to strole across something like that. Here in the mid coast it's dry too. All the grasses and weeds are dying back early. Allows you to see what's crawling ahead of you before you step on it though. Thanks Lone Star

Manchu...I applaud your keen observation, from what you have said camps could be found from google earth or topo maps. Climate must have been wetter when they were there, but just enough to keep a waterhole. The game was forced to come to them, saving their energy. You need to check those low spots, may find some whole points that missed their mark. Drought and fire are terrible but they present a window for a short time until the vegetation re-establishes itself. Please keep us informed as you have found a piece of the puzzle.
